Vanilla Cupcake Bakery

Posted by on November 28, 2012

Cupcakes are still the rage these days, and I guess they’re here to stay. Over the years, not only have our local cupcakes become prettier and tastier but also, cupcake shops have stepped up in terms of cuteness — first there was Cupcakes by Sonja‘s charming store in Serendra; and then Sophie’s Mom‘s cute neighborhood bakery in San Antonio Village, Makati; now comes Vanilla Cupcake Bakery in Glorietta. It opened only last week but it has been drawing in the crowds already.

new sweet shop in Glorietta

Located on the second level of Glorietta, right in front of National Bookstore and very near the access to SM Makati, is this bakery that specializes in cupcakes, cookies and panna cotta. The shop is so chic and inviting, it’s impossible for me to resist going inside.

The goodies are freshly-baked and frosted in the kitchen behind those heavy drapes.  The heavenly scent of vanilla wafts through the air as I choose which cupcake to try from a variety of choices in the display case.

There are no surprises in terms of cupcake flavors — just the usual vanilla, chocolate, mocha, caramel, red velvet, and some baby cheesecakes as I like to call them.

I’m not a fan of red velvet, so I opt for something a bit different: Banana & Nutella Cupcake (P65), which is delicious and refreshing even though the frosting doesn’t really taste like Nutella.

I also decide to try the panna cotta (P70), which comes in a small jar accented with a pretty little ribbon. The panna cotta, topped with chunks of sweet mango, is not as creamy as I had hoped but I give it a thumbs-up for presentation. I can forgive all the imperfections just because of the cuteness of everything in the store. I just love pretty things!

I want to bring my dessert-loving girlfriends to the Vanilla Cupcake Bakery and be surrounded by cupcakes so we can all feel pretty just like Marie Antoinette. I don’t mind the prices of the goodies because I understand that shop rental rates in major malls are not cheap. Besides, did I mention that the place is so pretty, pretty, pretty? It really is.

cuteness overload

Have a sweet day!

Exactly my thoughts on the cupcake shop! There is a small one in Trinoma and truth be told, the cupcakes are not as moist and delicious as I hoped they would be. The flavors are also at times inconsistent in texture and taste. But there is just something about the shop that makes me go back.

I meant the cupcakes are also at times inconsistent in texture and taste – not flavor. Sorry!

So true Mommy Marie. After all of the buzz that Vanilla Cupcake Bakery has been receiving, I was expecting to be blown away by their flavors. The Red Velvet was pretty dry and tasteless, however, cream cheese frosting was okay. But I really really love their shop. I feel like a child playing tea party with my dolls.

Masarap ang pasta nila my mom ordered tuna salad and mine is my fab carbonara.. I thought it was just an ordinary savor but when I tasted it, gosh my mouth didn’t stop grinding until to the last bit of bacon and pasta. I love the sauce, very creamy and you know what, my fab portion of the store are their tables , chairs, lamps and their staff. Friendly , clean environment and cute, guwapo and delicious chef. Punta ako diyan next week sana ibigay niya yong number sa friend ko at sa akin…. sowe po.
