Her real name is Isabella, which, according to the Baby Names Dictionary, means “consecrated to God.” Within the family she is called Bea for short–sometimes Bei or even Butchokoy. I call her Isabelita when I’m really pissed with her, and that happens a lot. Born on a rainy Saturday afternoon in June seven years ago, Bea is a typical Gemini. She’s energetic, always curious, quick-witted, imaginative and loquacious. Call her crazy and she’ll tell you, without so much as batting an eyelash, “Thank you, that’s true.”
“A baby is an angel whose wings decrease as his legs increase.” [French Proverb]
It’s amazing how time flies–Bea turned 7 years old very recently, is now a 2nd grader at an all-girls school (her choice, actually) and is currently hooked on facebook. She has all these traits that she got from me and some from her Daddy, yet she is her own unique person. Like any mother, I’m so proud of my little girl, tantrums and all. She drives me crazy with her strong character, but I’m still crazy about her.
And oh, she wanted me to tell you that she loves steak!
