Hello, Weekend!

Posted by on July 16, 2011

Saturday mornings are our favorite because they’re always pancakes-and-bacon days! This family tradition started about 4 or 5 years ago, and yet we’re still looking forward to our Saturday breakfast every week. It’s a great way to greet the weekend, even if we don’t have anything special planned. Pancakes and bacon never fail to put a smile on my little darling’s face, and deep inside I wish that she will fondly remember this simple childhood memory when she’s all grown up. To make our favorite breakfast even more fun, I purchased this cute Hello Kitty pan–only P88 from Japan Home Center. I’ve loved Hello Kitty since I was a little girl and to this day, I still feel giddy at the sight of Hello Kitty items. In fact, this pan was my Valentine’s gift for myself this year. (Yes, I’m so cheap.) I plan to buy more for my friends when new stocks arrive.

As for the bacon, it’s just Purefoods Honeycured Bacon fried to a delicious crisp. Irresistible! Off the top of my head, there are just a
few other food pairings that make absolute sense: champorado and tuyo, mangga’t suman, churros con tsokolate. Serving pancakes and bacon to my Bea is just one of my tiny ways of telling her how much I love her without having to say the words. A delighted scream and a hug are my precious rewards.

Build happy memories for your kids, no matter how simple they are.  It’s not all about out-of-town trips or buying them expensive toys. Little things count, too. Happy weekend!
